MIDDLE SCHOOL / TEENS PROGRAMS

Afternoons ROCK at the YMCA

Who:   Boys and girls (Grade 5 - 8)

What:   A program that will provide youth with prevention education on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.  Topics covered include: refusal skills, life skills, conflict resolution & self esteem building activities fostering healthy lifestyle choices.

Where:   The program meets at the Scott County Family YMCA. Transportation may be available for participants in need.

When:     3:00 - 6:00 pm

Cost:       Free.   Sponsored by Indiana Department of Mental Health and Addiction.  Contact Brent Calloway, 752-7239 for more information.

Teen Leaders Club

      The Teen Leadership Club is available to Scott County middle school and high school students for the pupose of providing its members with knowledge and training that will help them become leaders in their school and community.  Call Jon Jackson, 752-7239 for more details.

Middle School Teen Nights

(Grades 6-8)

Runs during the school year. Last one this year in first friday in May. See you next school year

Times:  First Friday of each month from 8:00pm - 10:00pm

Dates:    Monthly....September through May 2007

Fees:    Member/Non-member   $2.00

T.A.T.U. - Teens Against Tobacco Use ( Voice)

(Grades 6-12)

Teens helping teens to stay tobacco free through community involvement and activism.

HIGH SCHOOL STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

(14 - 18 YEARS OLD)

Plyometrics and strength training designed to improve athletic strength and endurance. Program designed in cooperation with local coaches.  A great off-season training program as well as a great way to prepare for tryouts.
