Scott County Family YMCA Mission Statement

The Scott County Family YMCA, an association of people, is dedicated to the development of families and individuals, through the delivery of programs and services which teach and foster Christian lifestyles.

The CORNERSTONES OF CHARACTER

At the YMCA we integrate the four Cornerstones of Character Development (caring, honest, respect and responsibility into all activities, programs and facilities.  We encourage our members and participants to do the same by living out these values.

Caring:  To love others, to be sensitive to the well-being of others, to help others.

Honesty:  To tell the truth, to act in such a way that you are worthy of trust, to have integrity; making sure your choices match your values.

Respect:  To treat others as you would have them treat you; to value the worth of every person, including yourself.

Responsibility:  To do what is right, what you should do; to be accoutnable for your behavior and obligations.
